Mobile notary in Napa
Napa is the county seat of Napa County and has its own hospital, its own recorder and a large number of care and retirement homes — where a good share of Napa signings happen — which is why it gets the full on-site appointment: a call the day before, the form brought ready, the witness question answered by the notary's stamp, and a scan sent before the drive home.
What to know about signings in Napa
-
Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center on Trancas Street is Napa's hospital. Bedside signings there follow the same rule as everywhere: the signer must be awake, oriented and able to say what the document is.
-
The Napa County Recorder–County Clerk is on First Street in downtown Napa. A deed signed in Napa or American Canyon records here, not in Solano County.
-
Napa State Hospital is a secure state facility. A signing for a patient there is arranged through the hospital, takes longer to set up, and is not a same-day appointment.

Napa's hospital. Signings done here at the bedside; the unit nurse should know one is coming.
How an appointment works
- 1
You call or send a request. We go over which document you have, what identification the signer holds, who needs to be present, and whether the signer can acknowledge the signing themselves.
- 2
The fee is quoted for the whole visit and agreed before anyone travels. Napa appointments are booked as one on-site visit, with the correct California form brought ready if the family does not have it.
- 3
At the signing, identification, the certificate wording, the witness requirement and the signature blocks are checked against the current statute before I leave, and a scan is sent the same day.
