About this site

Almost everything written online about powers of attorney, health care directives and travel consent letters is written by people who have never watched one be used. This site is written by someone who does the signings.

Who performs the work

Michael Seutin

Notary Public, State of California

Commission number:
2518648
Commission expires:
May 20, 2029
County of residence:
Solano County

A California notary's jurisdiction is the entire state, not one county — California Government Code section 8200. Residence in Solano County is why Napa, Benicia and Fairfield are all within normal reach.

What the work actually is

Mobile notarization, performed where the signer is: hospitals, skilled nursing and care facilities, private homes. That setting is the reason this site exists. A signing at a kitchen table rarely goes wrong. A signing at a bedside runs into questions no form explains — who is allowed to witness, whether a signer who cannot speak can still act, what the facility will and will not permit, and whether the bank or hospital on the receiving end will accept the result.

Those answers get written down here, because they are the part nobody publishes.

What is deliberately not here

No legal advice, and no document preparation. A notary public verifies identity, witnesses a signature and completes a notarial certificate. Choosing which document you need, filling it in, or explaining what a clause does in your circumstances is the practice of law, and it is not offered here at any price.

The full disclaimer sets out the line and where it sits.

How the guidance is kept honest

  • State requirements are checked against the current statute, not a secondary source.
  • Every page carries the date its content was last verified.
  • Where the rule differs by state, the page says which state it is describing.
  • Where something is uncertain, the page says so rather than guessing.
